Flag dedication

Flag dedication

"We are excited about the new beginning of the baseball program here at MHS, and few things are more American than the game of baseball. Tonight we are proud to announce the addition of a new flagpole, flying a flag that represents our great country and those who defend it every day. The price of freedom is very high, and one solider from Mt. Hermon was willing to answer his country’s call and pay that price with his life. That person was Larry Wells. It is with great pride that we dedicate this flag to the memory of Lance Corporal Larry Wells, who graduated from Mt. Hermon School in 2002 and joined the United States Marine Corps to serve his country.   During his second tour of duty, while fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Najaf, Iraq, he was killed in active duty.  As we say the pledge, may we be mindful of those who serve our country, and of Larry, who represented our school and our community in our country’s service."
